Pre & Postnatal Education

Support and education from the comfort of your own home.

Prenatal classes in Toronto have changed so much in the last few years, and learning about the birthing and postpartum processes, now-a-days, can be  fun, empowering, and supportive as well as informative.  You are also no longer restricted to only taking hospital based birth classes. Classes taught by certified doulas and certified childbirth educators can offer not just evidence based information but a plethora of options available to you in your labour and birth so you, as the birthing parent, are able to make decisions about your birth that is unique to you and your birth journey. Your educator will be available before during and long after the class to answer your questions and offer support so that you feel comfortable with your journey through birth and beyond.

About Your Childbirth Educator
Kimberley Fernandez

The only thing predictable about birth, is that it is unpredictable, therefore the best way to give birth, is informed.
~ Kimberley Fernandez - CLD, CCCE, CSC

As a certified childbirth educator since 2006, I have learned that my job as a prenatal educator and doula is not to just verbally vomit out information, but explain why things work as they do, to offer you options for your birth, listen to your concerns, help calm your anxiety and empower you to ask as many questions as you need to help you make the best decisions for you, your baby and your family.

Being a certified birth doula for 18 years and having supported 100's of families in their birth and postpartum journeys, I have hands on knowledge about all types of birth.  From unmedicated home water births, to hospital births with and without epidurals, inductions and planned or unplanned cesarean births.

I have no preconceived notion about the best way to give birth.  I myself have given birth three very different ways.  I think the best way to give birth is informed and empowered.

Your kindness, support, and knowledge reverberated through the screen during what you know was a hugely anxious time for us. We so appreciate all you share - your humour, your suite of services (ie - pp support!) - we will never forget! Truly core memories leading up to birth of our now 2 yr old… do you offer toddler support services ?!  Thank you for all you have given and provided

- Diana L

I just wanted to reach out and thank you for the incredibly useful resources and information you provided in the prenatal and infant care classes.  I felt incredibly prepared for labour and delivery.  Your class helped me to feel able to respond to challenges and make tough decisions when needed.

Now that the babies are here, I have lost count of the number of times we have said "remember what doula Kim said..." as we've faced new challenges and figured out this new life with babies.

I hadn't realized how much we learned in advance, which really helped us feel informed and prepared for the first month with the twins.

~ Julia G

Kim, We really enjoyed and valued your classes, support and advice when we were expecting our first. Much of it has carried on as we welcomed our second last month!

- Monique B

Kim! You were so helpful to us and gave me so much peace of mind in the most anxious time of my life. What a shame. We still appreciate all your help and hope everything goes amazing for you. We wish you the best. - Susana SS

Kimberley was phenomenal! I felt infinitely more comfortable, prepared, ready and excited after completing this class. This was of course in part due to the content and information but also largely based on Kimberley's approach and demeanor. Massive thanks to Kimberley for being a part of our journey!

Kim - thank you so much for your classes! I loved how you made us all feel so re-assured about this new journey we are going to embark on and disspelled so many myths we are made to believe. Your classes have been deeply insightful and I cannot wait for my infant care classes coming up with you!!
